Comeback Falls Short in 15-9 Loss to the S.W.A.T.

Saskatoon, SK - The Outlaws headed to Saskatoon to take on the S.W.A.T. on Thursday night. Prince Albert fell in a heated affair for their fourth consecutive loss.

The S.W.A.T. got on the board first and fast scoring just 29 seconds into the game. The S.W.A.T. would add another a little over 4 minutes later to go up 2-0. The score held that way until Cody Lafond got the Outlaws on the board at the at the 12:21 mark of the period to make it 2-1. Brody Holizki then scored just over a minute later to tie the game 2-2. The S.W.A.T. would add two more late in the period to make it 4-2 going into the first intermission.

The S.W.A.T. would add two more in the first 5 minutes of the second period to make it a 6-2 game. Lafond would add another for the Outlaws at the 6:26 mark to cut the S.W.A.T. lead in half. The S.W.A.T. would then score 2 minutes later to extend the lead for the home team. Both teams would trade goals in the final 6 minutes of the period. Kurtis Peifer would score 2 quick ones for the Outlaws and Kallen Currie would add another for PA and the Outlaws would head into the third period down 9-6.

The Outlaws looked to crawl back to get their first win of the season. Holizki would get his second of the night 31 seconds into the third to make it 9-7. A couple minutes later Ryan Potie fired a laser past the S.W.A.T. goaltender to make it 9-8. Then 45 seconds later Peifer would tie up the game 9-9, but Cody Lafond would get credit for the goal. The S.W.A.T. would pull ahead shortly after to make it 10-9. Then will just over 11 minutes left, a big scrum resulted in multiple 5 minute majors being handed out for both teams. The Outlaws then got themselves into penalty trouble for the rest of the game and ended up falling 15-9 to the S.W.A.T.

Cody Lafond and Ethan Kennedy both recorded 4 points in the game, while Brody Holizki and Kurtis Peifer each had 3. Lucas Wells played well in the loss.

The Outlaws are back in Saskatoon on Sunday to take on the Steelers. Game time is 7:30 pm.
