Outlaws Beat the Heat to Take the Season Series

Prince Albert, SK - Ethan Kennedy started the scoring, and kept it up to lead the Outlaws to a 10-7 victory over the Regina Heat to take the season series.

Kennedy and Kurtis Peifer would get the first 2 goals for PA to take a 2-0 lead in the first half of the opening frame. The Heat’s Travis Williams would cut the lead in half with 5:38 remaining in the period. But Kennedy would strike back with his second of the game to make it 3-1 a little over a minute later. Williams would add another late in the period for Regina to send the game into the first intermission with the Outlaws up 3-2.

Regina would get a couple quick goals early in the middle stanza from Joe Laprairie and Williams to make it 4-3 for Regina. Kennedy and Peifer would add to their goal totals to help regain the lead for the home team. But the sneaky Travis Williams would notch another to tie it up with 7 minutes left in the period. Peifer would get his third goal of the game to regain the lead once again for the Outlaws at the 3:35 mark. The Outlaws would add another from rookie Brody Mcleod with 2 seconds left on the clock to go into the second intermission up 7-6

Kennedy kept up his hot streak in this game adding a pair in the first minute and a half to make it 9-6 Outlaws. Williams would get his fifth goal of the game at the 14:09 mark to cut the PA lead to 2. But Kennedy would complete the sock trick exactly one minute late to add some insurance. With 4:20 left, Laprairie would get his second of the game for the Heat but it wasn’t enough and Prince Albert walked away with a 10-7 win at home.

Ethan Kennedy and Kurtis Peifer led the way offensively for the Outlaws in this one. Kennedy added 6 to his goal total as well as 2 assists for 8 points. While Peifer would net 3 goals and add 2 assists for 5 points.

The Outlaws will take the long weekend off before taking on the Saskatoon SWAT on May 23 down in Saskatoon.
