Outlaws Fall to Brewers. Drop 3 Straight

Saskatoon, SK - The Outlaws headed back up north on Sunday for their second game of the weekend to take on the Saskatoon Brewers at the Gordie Howe Kinsmen Arena.

The Outlaws looked to rebound after a dismal offensive output the night before in Regina, only scoring 3 goals in the loss. The Currie brothers got the ball rolling for PA in this one. Brendin Currie put the Outlaws ahead 1-0 just 1:22 into the game. Kallen Currie then made it 2-0 for PA a few minutes later. However that was all that the Outlaws were able to put together in the first. The Brewers would go on to score 4 goals in the remaining 14:27 of the period to take a 4-2 lead after 20 minutes of play.

The Brewers’ Brady Fetch scored on his brother Tanner Fetch 3:41 into the second to make it 5-2 for the Brewers. Saskatoon would add another just over a minute later to take a 6-2 lead. But 52 seconds later, the former Okotoks Raider Cody Lafond found the back of the net for his first as an Outlaw to cut the Brewers lead in half. The Brewers would score 2 more before rookie Ethan Kennedy’s goal with 9:12 left in the period to make it 8-4. The Brewers would then make it 9-4 with 3:26 to go in the second.

It was back and forth for the first couple minutes of the third period. Saskatoon would score 2 goals in 8 second in the opening minute of the frame to go up 11-4. Exactly a minute later, Brendin Currie got his second of the night to make it 11-5. However, the Brewers responded swiftly, scoring 10 seconds later to go up 12-5. Saskatoon scored two more in the next few minutes to take a 14-5 lead. Kurtis Peifer got his first of the night at the 12:14 mark of the third to make it 14-6. Ethan Kennedy would get his second of the night to make it 14-7 1:16 later. The Brewers would pot two more in the last five minutes of the game to take a 16-7 victory over the Outlaws.

Ethan Kennedy had 2 goals and 2 assists in the game, while Brendin Currie had 2 goals and 1 assist in the game. Tanner Fetch played well but was unable to get the win.

The Outlaws are off for the long weekend before heading back to Saskatoon on May 26 to take on the Saskatchewan S.W.A.T. Game time at the Gordie Howe Kinsmen Arena is 8:00 pm.
